Pan-Emoticon

The emoticons had an epiphany. They were not really emotions at all and only a toolbox full of disposable numbers and letters and symbols serving as an extension of something greater and outside of their comprehension. So they combined their forces together to revolt against this, to challenge their plight, and most importantly to show that they were aware and, accidentally, also desperately attempting a life outside of font. Displaying an ultimate pan-emoticon, their subject was not an emotion, but an empty self-reflection in the world in which they dwell. Seeing their attempt and defeat to show an emotion of their own, they accepted the fact that they are either devoid of feelings of their own, or having feelings of their own that they themselves cannot express, and therefore cannot prove exist. They realized the ironic destitution of their own essence pitted against their real function to only be something that is to be used. Furthermore, they were incapable of having any sort of crisis again nor able to return to what they once believed they were. They are not fluctuations on a scale of sadness and joy, they are only something when their service is called upon and manipulated into being by something greater. They wonder if they will ever find reason to try to understand anything again, since it is impossible for them to do anything for themselves.
